The Regulatory Council takes advantage of the event with the largest influx of public in the Segureña region to publicize its certified EVOO to spectators and pilots from various countries.
The Denomination of Origin ‘Sierra de Segura’ is going to promote its quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil at the XXIII International Air Festival ‘El Yelmo’, which is held in Cortijos Nuevos and Segura de la Sierra between the 16th and 18th of June. In this event, consolidated as the second most important free flight event in Europe, the organization expects the presence of more than 20,000 people from all over Spain and other countries to witness the air displays of the Army and the best paragliding, paramotor pilots , BASE jumping and hang gliding in the world.
The Regulatory Council will send its certified extra virgin olive oil to all the participants in the XV FIA El Yelmo Trail and the Flight Concentration, while the winners of the Photography Contest, the Reel Contest and the Voleteras Precision Concentration will receive three-liter cans and half-liter bottles of olive oil with the Denomination of Origin ‘Sierra de Segura’.
The DO will also offer its support to the International Air Film Festival, in which 17 productions from eight countries participate, where it will recognize the six winners with bottles of certified EVOO. In addition, the first classified in each of the 15 Trail categories will receive a 500-milliliter bottle of olive oil with DO ‘Sierra de Segura’.
The International Air Festival ‘El Yelmo’ is a great opportunity to promote the highest quality oil from Segura, since it is the event that brings together the largest audience in the region throughout the year. The image of the DO ‘Sierra de Segura’ will be present in the different promotional formats, the screens and in the different settings where the Festival is held, the Segura de la Sierra castle and the Cortijos Nuevos football field.
The Protected Designation of Origin ‘Sierra de Segura’, the oldest olive oil quality figure in Andalusia, covers a production area of 40,000 hectares belonging to more than 8,000 farmers from 14 municipalities in the northeast of the province of Jaén.
